Is your home on a well system?  Don’t Assume it if you consume it!

I would suggest having the water quality tested and water treatment equipment further evaluated if your homes water supply is coming from a well.  The investment for a water treatment equipment inspection is a very small price to pay for what might otherwise cost a new home buyer up to $6,000.00 to replace.  We want to offer you every opportunity to protect your investment and we work with local water treatment companies and coordinate their service to inform you on your system and its current condition.  This is an added service, but offers a lot of protection and education for each home buyer.
What are the most common issues with well water?

No two water sources are created equal. Wells can have so many variables to the quality of water, which allows for a variety of issues. Typically, most wells installed in the Southwest Florida area are 4” deep wells.  Depending on the area, the water quality can vary drastically.  Issues commonly found during water testing are high amounts of sulfur, or sulfur bacteria (identified by a rotten egg smell), hardness, iron tannins and high amounts of dissolved solids. It is less than likely to find harmful bacteria’s, which can be present, but are more commonly found within two-inch shallow well’s. When testing any water source, it is recommended to follow the guidelines of the WQA and EPA regulations to come up with a total solution for Safe Drinking Water.

Why water quality inspection Are so important?

It is very important to routinely have your water system checked especially when you have standing water or if you reside in a rural area. It is also important to routinely check and maintain your water conditioning system not just for quality drinking and bathing water but to prevent costly maintenance repairs.

What do most water treatment companies inspect?

Water Treatment companies will examine what type of treatment you currently have, educate you as a home owner about water quality in general. They will perform a complete analysis of your current water quality and then provide you with a detailed inspection report. If necessary, recommendations for additional testing through a local lab will be suggested only if/when there is a concern with safety or bacteria is present. Their reports will give you detailed options for water treatment, and/or repair if needed. Additionally, maintenance options will be discussed and you will be educated as a homeowner on how to maintain your system.

Are there different sized wells?

If your home was built after the early nineties you typically will have a 4” deep water well. If it was built prior to then you more than likely would have a 2” inch shallow well.

What is the typical cost of a new system? The cost of replacing a water system can range depending on water quality and the customer needs.  A water treatment system can range in price from $600 to $6,000.

What does monthly maintenance typically involve and how much does it typically cost?

Our experience tells us the maintenance will typically cost between $50.00- $ 75.00 per month.

This minimal description is for home owners who already have a good working water treatment system.

A water quality technician will perform a monthly detailed service that includes adding salt and citric acid (when applicable) to water softener brine tank.  They will also typically check the systems settings and system mechanics to ensure all are functioning properly.  They will often test the quality of the water at this time as well.
