What concerns are addressed while inspecting the garage?
The garage inspection involves an evaluation of major components typically installed in the garage such as the hot water heater, air handler and the electrical panel. We evaluate the visible wall structure and ceilings to identify any potential leaks that could exist from either the roof, HVAC system or the plumbing. All outlets are tested to verify if they have the correct polarity and we identify missing GFCI outlets as they should be utilized as a preventive safely measure in the garage. We will test the garage door opener when it is present, but it should be noted that it is not uncommon for adjustments to be needed at the garage door opener for the safety purposes. We will inspect the garage door, garage service door and the door leading into the home. We will identify any damage to the door, missing weather stripping, hardware defects, wood rot or improper ratings for door locations. |
