Will your mobile home weather the storms?
Every structure we inspect requires specific attention to the details of its construction. We cater every inspection towards the type of structure that we are inspecting. Mobile Homes are no exception. I have listed below some of the items that are of specific concerns for mobile homes.
Tie Downs: Proper tie downs are necessary due to the potential of heavy winds that we occasionally face here in Southwest Florida. Mobile homes rest upon a foundation installed under the home, but the home is secured to the ground by the process of anchoring rods and tie down systems. Evaluating this system is a crucial part of inspecting a mobile home.
Foundations: Mobile homes are supported and secured by resting upon concrete blocks or columns. It is not uncommon for these foundations to move and to require some modifications to gain the intended structural integrity as originally designed.
We treat the complete mobile home inspection with the same detail of a single family home inspection while also paying close attention to the way this home is secured to the foundation as well as anchored to and secured to the ground. |
